Following the opening of the Endeavour Galleries at the National Maritime Museum our Projects Director, Neil Fox, had this to say about his time spent delivering the project with his team.
“Overseeing the design development, manufacture and installation of the Endeavour Galleries at The National Maritime Museum was an all-consuming, humbling and once in a lifetime experience.
The coordination, interfacing, management and programming of our in house Setworks Joinery with the various complex Sub-contractor packages was as diverse as it was fascinating. From carefully planning crane lifts of 300kg pieces of glass into the Galleries to identifying the most aesthetically pleasing fixings to stainless steel AV screen housings and from creating a six metre long curved steel formed wave structure clad in oak veneer to facilitating the installation of an 8m long canoe object from Fiji, the project presented challenges and opportunities for us to demonstrate what we are capable of delivering in this sector.
I have to say it was a privilege to have guided Realms’ team to the successful execution of this most prestigious of projects, and it is extremely satisfying to play a part in the creation of such a culturally significant exhibition at one of London’s most internationally renowned venues.”
